I am a seasoned licensed psychologist specializing in diagnosing and treating anxiety, attentional,
and behavioral problems in adults and children.
I've been trained in scientifically-based treatment methods which I continually upgrade through professional conferences and seminars.
My strengths include integration of information from the individual, and, with children, from the family, teachers,
and other professionals, creating a broad and rich picture of the client in all areas of functioning. When called for, I
use questionnaires and other assessment techniques. This leads to a comprehensive treatment addressing attitudes, motivation, learning style and temperamental variations.
My approach to treatment is organized to address each individual's goals, and typically includes
direct coaching, development of positive coping skills,
and imaging/visualization techniques. With most clients I use a therapeutic method called "Cognitive Therapy"
or CT. I have received substantial training in CT and have found it to be both effective and efficient.
Most treatment lasts 3 to 9 months. I collaborate
with psychiatrists and pediatricians when medication is indicated.
